Nikolai Konstantinovich Romanov
A special place in the show’s narrative belongs to the venue itself — the Romanov Palace, a landmark of Tashkent’s late 19th-century cultural heritage, originally built as the residence of Grand Duke Nikolai Konstantinovich Romanov. Throughout its history, the palace has remained a center of the city’s cultural, social, and diplomatic life, preserving its status as one of Tashkent’s most significant historic residences.
Today, the site is undergoing a large-scale restoration led by the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation in collaboration with Atelier Brückner. The project is aimed at preserving the palace’s architectural heritage while reimagining it as part of Tashkent’s contemporary cultural infrastructure.
